100% Pass Rate for Nursing Class
Workforce Development Board 83 would like to share an article from the Franklin Sun. We are so proud of the hard work of our WIA & Phocas participants. We wish them the very best in their nursing careers! The article follows below:
The July 2015 graduating practical nursing class from Louisiana Delta Community College-Winnsboro Campus had a 100 percent passing rate for the NCLEX-PN exam on their first attempt. This gives the 19 graduates a license to practice as a practical nurse.
The announcement came in a letter from Nancy McCarthy, Associate Executive Director of the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners to DeAnne Kiper, Campus Director for LDCC-Winnsboro.
Graduate Samantha Smith expressed pride in the class. “We stuck beside each other in the hardest of times and everyone succeeded. I am also thankful that LDCC had a campus in Winnsboro that provided an opportunity to earn a degree close to home. Many thanks to our PHOCAS tutor, Julie Fletcher, who was a large part of our program and its success. She was our biggest cheerleader, a great teacher, and a sweet friend.”
Kiper noted that the practical nursing class was an especially determined group of students who excelled in an academically challenging program.
“We are absolutely thrilled with our 2015 NCLEX test results,” she said “Of course the class could not enjoy this type of outcome without our dedicated nursing faculty who continue to go above and beyond for their students. We are anticipating great things from this program in the future while we continue to provide the finest nurses for our community partners,” Kiper said.
The 2015 practical nursing graduates passing the NCLEX-PN Exam in addition to Smith are:
Kasey Curington, Lindsey Flint, Tara Sophia Fowler, Jasmine Farmer, Ariel Gill, Keisha Givens, Kim Guillot, Chelsea Hackney, Morgan Head, Kim McLemore, Emily McNease, Candace Myers, Kasey Poarch, Tamara Rhodes, Kathy Self, Brittany Shafer, Samantha Smith and Kindra Vaughn.
