NELA H.O.P.E. Application Introduction

                   

Hello!

 

NELA H.O.P.E. APPLICATION INTRODUCTION:

 

The NELA H.O.P.E. Project is being offered by Workforce Development Board SDA-83 with funding awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor. 

​

The purpose of the H.O.P.E. Project is to provide 150 eligible individuals (New Workforce Entrants, Dislocated Workers, and Incumbent Workers) with opportunities to obtain multi-level educational training for careers in the high-growth and high-demand healthcare sector, while benefitting from the provision of needed support to overcome barriers.  This is a competitive application for sponsorship.  NOT ALL ELIGIBLE applicants will be selected to participate or to receive sponsorship.

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

  1. Go to your local American Job Center to get an application.

  2. Complete and sign all of the enclosed forms.

  3. Include copies of all of the required documentation:

    1. Birth Certificate

    2. Social Security Card

    3. Louisiana Issued Driver’s License or Louisiana Issued Identification Card

    4. Entrance scores from desired school (ie: Compass, Accuplacer, ACT)

    5. Transcript from most recent school attended

    6. Letter of Acceptance for desired school.

    7. FASFA or SAR  (Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid or Student Aid Report)               This information can be obtained from https://fafsa.ed.gov

    8. Selective Service Registration for all males born after born on or after January 1, 1960.

                                         This information can be obtained from www.sss.gov

                                        

  1. Complete H.O.P.E. Application in blue or black ink only.  Do not use pencil or white out.

  2. Utilize the provided checklist form to be certain your Pre-Application is complete.

  3. Return your completed application to the Business & Career Solutions Center within 5 business days of date the application is obtained.

  4. BE SURE TO HAVE A CENTER STAFF PERSON TO REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION!
